Who Should NOT Use Aerwell

We'd rather you not buy this than use it unsafely.

Aerwell is designed to support nasal breathing during sleep for people who can otherwise breathe comfortably through their nose. It is not right for everyone, and we'd rather tell you that plainly now than have you find out the hard way at 2am.

Do not use Aerwell if:

  • You have moderate to severe sleep apnea that has not been evaluated or treated by a doctor. Nasal breathing support is not a substitute for prescribed apnea treatment.
  • You have chronic nasal congestion, a deviated septum, or any condition that makes nose breathing difficult on a given night. If you're congested, skip tape for the night.
  • You have GERD, acid reflux, or a history of vomiting during sleep, unless your doctor has confirmed it's safe for you.
  • You have a known allergy to adhesives, or sensitive or compromised skin.
  • You are under 18, pregnant, or unable to remove the tape yourself if needed.
  • You've been told by a doctor to avoid anything that restricts mouth breathing.

Before your first night

Talk to your doctor first if you have or suspect sleep apnea, or any breathing or cardiac condition. Try Aerwell for a short period during the day while you're awake, so you know exactly how it feels and how to remove it before relying on it overnight.

Aerwell is designed with a breathable vent and can be applied as a partial strip, so you're never fully sealed and can always breathe through the sides or remove it at any time. It is a comfort and habit-training aid — not a medical device, and not a treatment for sleep apnea or any diagnosed condition.

If anything about this gives you pause, that's the right instinct. Talk to a doctor first.
